Going for a Walk!

It is a beautiful day in St. Louis area, and My Lady is taking us for a walk. You can see Dragon Hawke, the papillion, on the left, Gabriel, the Chinese Crested Puff, on the right and I am in the middle. This is the way we always go. The two bigger dogs have black leather leashes with chain collars, and I have a lovely red nylon leash with a tiny chain collar. My Lady can snap them on us in minutes, and we usually wait very patiently for this routine because we love our walks. She walks about an hour a day for at least three days a week, and the other days we usually go out until our business is done. Then, we come in for our cookies. What a nice routine it is, too, except if it is raining. Then all bets are off. We do NOT like walking in the rain, but almost always she takes us out for a quick run. Oh, yes, we do go out three or four times a day, but some trips are shorter than others. My Lady likes to call Great Lady while we are out walking in the morning and that gives them a great time of conversation on the cell phones. In effect, Great Lady is walking with us, too. Great Lady loves to hear about all we do so she and I can pass it on to you. Love until tomorrow from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

Dragon Hawke Is Just as Nice!

Here is Dragon Hawke, our black and white elegant Papillion who I think is very nice. Well, I saw the "Animal Planet's" dog show the other night and a black and white Papillion won 2nd or 3rd place and I am sure our Dragon Hawke is every bit as nice as that one. I am delighted, however, that a Papillion won this honor and am very proud of ours. Dragon Hawke truly has lovely markings and those nice "butterfly" ears, even if My Lady will not let him have the long fur hanging from them. We are all clipped and groomed for our comfort, not show. In fact, Dragon Hawke has such thick fur that he is stripped to thin it out, so he doesn't shed as much. Of course, I don't shed at all. I am really special. Glad Great Lady's wrist is getting better. She cannot wear the brace and type at the same time, so I am very glad she can do this again for me. I do so like to keep in touch with you. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

A Busy Day for My Lady!

Kheldar is busy today, so I am helping out. You know I am Dragon Hawke, the Papillion, and I have been all thinned out for the winter. I have more fur than I need, so twice a year, I have some grooming done so I don't shed much at all. I look very much the same, before and after. Kheldar, on the other hand, has to be clipped because he gets too matted and looks awful otherwise. Of course, Gabriel, the Chinese Crested Puff, really needs to be clipped so he looks like a miniature Afghan. He really looks neat afterward. His fur was so thick that he could hardly see through it, but when it is done, he looks terrific. Well, the grooming is really getting done and we should be ready for pictures soon. I understand Great Sir is going to take the photos and even will try to do an audio of our singing. You know that we are one of the best singing trios in the doggie world. Many plans are in the works with Great Lady and Great Sir here visiting. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie, written by Dragon Hawke, the Papillion.

Almost Done!

Here we are lying on the bed watching the action. My Lady, Great Lady, and Great Sir are hanging up all the family pictures in the bedroom. And My Lady has a lot of family pictures. First the collages went up, and they have an assortment of all kinds of family pictures in one frame. Then, the old photos of the great grand- parents and the grandparents were put up around the collages. My Lady has some terrific photos of Great Sir and Great Lady who have been married for 58 years in December. You can imagine that over the years, they have accrewed quite a few pictures. Then, there are the photos of the children and grand children. So cute. And there are pictures of Gideon, a darling full-sized Yorkshire Terrier who was the very first one in the family. Great Lady always said that he had personality, and she really loved that one almost as much as she likes me. Of course, there was also Lady Hawke, the first teacup yorkie in the family who even had the cutest puppies ever. Talk about tiny, they were very small and so precious. Naturally, they are all long gone, but they sure gave My Lady the desire to have more dogs and always a Yorkie in the bunch. That is why we now have a Chinese Crested Puff, a Papillion, and me, the real Teacup Yorkshire Terrier. My picture will be up there one day, but I have the blog, and that is really special. Love until tomorrow from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

Rough and Tumble!

Here we are Dragon Hawke and I lying on the sofa. Gabriel is lying on the floor beside the couch. We look so quiet and relaxed, but let My Lady say, "Let's go for a walk!" And everyone jumps up and runs to the door. She opens it, and Dragon Hawke and Gabriel rough and tumble down the long flight of stairs, but I sit at the top and wait until My Lady calls, "Come on, Kheldar!" Then, I walk down the long flight, hopping from one to the other. It is a long way for me, but I get there okay. We go into the garage then to get the leashes on and then out walking. We love that. However, the other day, when we were coming in and were getting the leashes off in the garage, I just went poking around and got left in there. Boy, that sure made an impression on me. I am right with the group going up the stairs, even if they bounce up and I go step by step, but I am NOT getting left in the garage ever again. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

Much Better Today!

Went for our walk and did NOT get locked in the garage. Boy, I was really out with the others and ran up the stairs really quick. I was not going to get left behind again. I am really enjoying my carrots this morning, and My Lady has been petting me a great deal, too. I know she feels terrible that she left me in the garage; however, I usually run right out with Dragon Hawke, the Papillion, and with Gabriel, the Chinese Crested Puff and dash up the stairs, but yesterday I just was poking around in the garage. Of course, I am dark gray almost black and when the light is out in the garage, I can just blend right in so she did not see me and WHAM! I was locked inside and had to stay there for a long time alone and no breakfast. When she did finally find me, I was sure glad to get out of there and back in my nice apartment. I am going to go lie on my pillow for a while, but after I eat my carrots. Oh, it is good to be where I belong. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

My Photo on the Book!

Look familiar? This is the photo that will appear on the back of the book that My Lady, Great Lady, and Great Sir have written. They are getting the final editings done and the cover layout ready. That is what I was doing yesterday when I missed my blog writing. It is very exciting. They decided to put my picture on the back even though this book is not about me, but it is about the first dogs my people family had. The dog group started with a pedigreed wire haired fox terrier named Morna and a pound pup called Neenah. That is the title of the first chapter of the book. They started this whole thing. My Lady related stories from her past with the dogs and they are wonderful--both the stories and the dogs. It is a really nice book for young adults and up and all dog lovers for sure. These two first dogs paved the way for others in the book and eventually the eleven dogs that will be featured in the other volumes. Finally, a later volume will will be about me! As of now, however, I am busy with the blog and can't get to the later volumes yet. We hope to get Volume 1 out very soon. It is really coming together and will be great. On the back of the fantastic cover is an article about the authors, and since My Lady is one of them, in her bio it is mentioned that I have a blog and my address is mentioned along with my photo. Hope to get more readers for the blog and for the book. As soon as it is printed, I will let you know. Be watching for it. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

I Ran and Ran!

Wow! What a time I had. The two little boys just chased me all over the house. I ran and ran until I was exhausted, but then I turned around, and in true terrier fashion, snapped at them because they just wouldn't let me alone. My Lady decided I had had enough and put me in her bedroom on the bed so I could rest. Because I am so small, the little boys just thought they could catch me, pick me up, and play with me like a toy. They loved our dog toys. We have a whole basket of them, and I think they thought I was one, too. They played nicely with Dragon Hawke, the Papillion; and Gabriel, the Chinese Crested Puff; but they just were different with me. Of course, the other dogs are bigger and tougher. My Lady knew I had put up with it as long as I could, but then I snapped. Good. I didn't hurt anyone but they got the message. I was terrified that they were going to step on me because I am small, but that is the way Teacup Yorkies are. The boys played with the other two dogs and were fine. I am usually okay around older people, but keep those little ones away from me. Please. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.
PS. I hope you notice that I am trying to keep two blogs going so you will be able to keep up with what I am doing. Which blog is easier to find? This one or Kheldar's Yorkie Blog.com. I do want everyone to find me easily. Please, let me know.

Resting Up Today!

We sure had a grand weekend with the grandsons here! As you can see though, I am resting up today. We went places, showing everyone St. Louis, and they were thrilled with our apartment and this lovely area. Of course, they were thrilled with the way Dragon Hawke, Gabriel, and I looked, too. We were dazzling, as you know. Had good food. My Lady and Gentle Sir had gotten all kinds of goodies in for everyone, and we got some great treats, also. We even got special treats when they went out to eat and we had to stay at home with the TV on to a good program with no ads. We watched some great movies. I especially like the ones with Lassie and Rin Tin Tin. Will tell you more about our weekend tomorrow. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

See if you can find my old blog.

Please, look and see if you can find the blog I started a year ago, and then; I lost it. The title was Kheldar's Yorkie Blog. com. I was doing very well with it and enjoyed doing it, but one day, I inadvertently changed the name and could not get back to my original one. Uncle Rick (My Lady's brother who knows a lot about blogging) just told me that the new name was too hard to find and nobody, except some dear family members could even read it. Then, today all the old posts came up and I could get back to my original one. See if you can find it. I have written a new post on it. Kheldar's Yorkie Blog.com. Please, let me know. I have so much to tell you. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

Dragon Hawke Ready, Too!

After my comments yesterday about having had a bath and being ready for company, Dragon Hawke, the Papillion, had his nose out of joint because he says that he had a bath, a major brushing in his very thick fur, and he looks dazzling now. I must say, he does look pretty nice. Dragon Hawke is always very particular about the way he looks, and cat-like, he will sit up on the back of the chair and lick his white paws clean. His fur never looks shaggy or matted like mine sometimes does, but he does shed, especially when spring comes and the weather starts to warm up. He will get a really thick fur now for winter, and he may need it here in St. Louis. I understand it will be much cooler than in Nashville, but not nearly as cold as it was when we lived in South Dakota. Well, he needs his fur, but I have sweaters and a coat to wear when it really gets cold, and I will happily stand and wait for My Lady to slip the sweater or the heavier coat on me when it is cold. I just had to be sure to let you know that Dragon Hawke does look very nice and is ready for company, too. I guess I will have to say some good words about Gabriel tomorrow, or he will probably be upset. Til then, Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

Going for a Walk!

Here we are going for a walk. You can see Dragon Hawke, the Papillion, on the left and Gabriel, the Chinese Crested Puff on the right, and, if you look real hard, there I am again, in the middle. We were not moving along, so I was looking backward to see where My Lady was. This time, Gentle Sir was with her so they had stopped to look at something. I knew things were different. They just mosey along when they are together walking us. When My Lady is alone, she just moves right along, and we walk like she did when she lived in Germany, many years ago. They called it a "volk's march," or something like that. She is all business, but when they walk together, it is more of a stroll. I like that, especially since I am so small and my legs are short. I really have to run most of the time while the other two just meander along. Well, this will be a nice stroll today. Looking forward to it. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

A Difference!

Notice the difference: I am a little spot on the pillow on the big chair, snuggled into the pillows, and Dragon Hawke, the Papillion, is on top of the back of the chair as high as he can get. He loves to be on top of everything. I look like a little gray spot and sometimes even snuggle under the pillow a bit if I am chilly. Of course, if possible, I would rather be sitting on My Lady's lap. Dragon Hawke, however, would prefer to sit on her shoulder. He is so funny. Hard to believe this is the beginning of August already. Whee! Gentle Sir will be home all day tomorrow and Sunday. Gabriel will be especially happy about that. Have a nice weekend. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

An Awful Problem!

A dreadful thing happened to my dear "brother" Dragon Hawke, the Papillion. My Lady was a little better, and we went for a walk. Suddenly, Dragon Hawke stopped and grabbed a bite of something on the side of the road in front of our apartment. My Lady quickly realized something was awfully wrong and grabbed Dragon Hawke, put her fingers into the dogs gagging mouth, and started to pull pieces of chicken bones out of her mouth. Someone driving by had tossed pieces of old chicken out as trash on the road, and the dear dog, thinking it was something great, gobbled it up. My Lady, with us other dogs pulling at our leashes, not realizing how serious this was, kept getting the bones out of Dragon Hawke's mouth and throat, shaking all the while. Some of the bones were two inches long, dry and brittle, and could have caused great trouble if they had gone into the intestines. At least, a vet bill would have been very expensive and most likely surgery would have been essential to save the dog's life. Still he may have died. All this could have happened because some unthinking person had tossed this piece of old chicken leftovers out where a dog could get it so easily. This is an area where many have dogs they love. Thankfully, My Lady is quick and reacted so well that she got all of the garbage out, I hope. Of course, now Dragon Hawke looks at her with disdain because she prevented him from a tasty tidbit, at least this is what he thinks. He doesn't know what a perilous spot he had been in with all that stuff in his mouth. Please, be careful with the stuff you toss out and allow some innocent pet to find. Throw it in a secure trash bin, and save a darling dog's life. I shudder to think that I may have lost this darling dog and friend. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

Here I Am in the New Apartment!

Here I am lying on the almost white carpet in our new apartment. Goodness, it is hard to believe that we have such pretty carpeting! My Lady will have a lot of cleaning to do because no matter how careful we are, we always bring in dirt on our paws. However, I am reminded that we have the big stairway up to our paradise, and since that is dark gray carpeting, we may lose part of the dirt there. By the time we are up in the apartment, our paws should be pretty clean. Hooray! We had a hard time in our other place because we came right in off the sidewalk and grassy area into the house and onto the rug. When it was fall, we usually brought in leaves and other debris that hung on to our fur. Gabriel was always a mess because he has even more fur on his paws than either Dragon Hawke or I do since he is a Chinese Crested Puff. I have a new photo of him I will share with you tomorrow. I do like the furry look better than the bare skin of the usual Cresteds. My Lady brushes us but can't do it every time we come in, so I am glad again to have the big stairway. More tomorrow. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

Today, the Movers Are Here!

I am in here, too, even though you can't see me, along with Dragon Hawke, the black and while Papillion, and Gabriel, the Chinese Crested Puff, locked in the bathroom for the day while the movers are packing My Lady's possessions. Of course, Gentle Sir is here, too, getting his things packed, along with ours. I know I will go for a walk once in a while, but this is a big day, and I have been told we three dogs have to stay out of the way. My Lady packed all the things from the bathroom yesterday, so then she could tell the movers to take everything out of the apartment, but they had to stay out of the bathroom where we are today. We have another bathroom for guests, but this one is ours.
Of course, we can rest up today because tomorrow we shall be on the road. Whee! We are going in the car, and I love to ride in the car with My Lady, and with all the extra boxes that have to go with us while the movers drive our things to St. Louis, Missouri. I have never been there, so I am looking forward to seeing our new home.
As I told you, My Lady and Gentle Sir had to look very hard to find a suitable apartment that would take three very small dogs. Imagine! There were places that would not have us. Maybe someday when they find out how outstanding we are, even have our own blog, they will wish they did have us celebrities staying in their apartments, but My Lady said we will really love our new place. I will have to tell you all about it as we travel and move in on Monday if all goes as planned. Tell all your dog-lover friends about my blog. Hope you like it. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.
