Gabriel Says Hello!

Gabriel, the Chinese Crested Puff, wanted to say hello, too. He is anxiously waiting for Great Lady to visit because he loves to sit next to her. She pets him a lot and often brings a treat. We three dogs will all be sitting at the door waiting for the door bell to ring. Won't be long now. Of course, they will be stopping in Nashville to see Ashton and help Damien celebrate his birthday, but then they will be coming here to St. Louis. They are planning to stay for a whole week here and even sleep in our guest room. That will be wonderful. My Lady will have to get me all brushed up real well so I will look great for the occasion. Of course, she will get Gabriel and Dragon Hawke brushed, too. Naturally, I am the smallest and most special, I think! Did want Gabriel to say hello though. I will try to write more tomorrow. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

Dragon Hawke Says Hi!

Dragon Hawke, the black and white Papillion, wants to say hello again, too. We are doing fine and just terribly busy. My Lady has been working hard, too hard, and hurt her back, but wants the place to be neat and tidy because Great Sir and Great Lady are coming to visit. Oh, what fun we have when they come! Of course, they are stopping to see Ashton and Damien, the great grandsons, first in Nashville, but then they will be here for a week! Whee! That is always exciting. They are even bring some antique furniture that My Lady has always wanted. Since the Greats have moved into a tiny little house, they had to get rid of the beautiful old (150+ years) hand carved bedroom set with dresser, chest, side table, head and foot boards and short rails. My Lady told me people used to be much shorter, so the bed is about six inches shorter than a regular full bed size. I am anxious to see how that works. Well, I will tell you more about it when they bring the stuff. Dragon Hawke thinks he knows all about it, but I will get the scoop from My Lady and fill you in more soon. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

Moved and Traveling!

Hi!

Here I am back and busy as can be. Have you missed me? I am sorry I was not able to get my emanuensis to write all the interesting things that have been going on with me because they were moving. Imagine being too busy moving to write my blog! She is back in business again, however, and not only have they moved, they are coming to visit me in person soon. How exciting that is! I always get special treatment and gifts when they come, and she will be more excited about getting my blog out. I hear they did get the dog book published at Amazon.com along with another book called Crossbreed about a werewolf and vampire who has a huge wolf hound that is special. Boy, I would really like him. My blog address is on the cover of both books though. Now they are busy writing Volume II of Hear What Your Dog Says! which is about other dogs that My Lady had when she was very young. If you like dogs, and who doesn't, you will love these books about dogs. Can you believe that My Lady and her family had eleven dogs all at one time? That was before she had a Yorkie. She did have a couple of other dogs though when she began apartment dwelling, as you probably know, before I came along, but she found they were not enough. She had to have a Yorkie. Four years ago she got me. The Chinese Crested Puff and the Papillion came to live with her before I was born, so they are nice older brothers for me now. Naturally, however, I am the boss! Well, will try to keep up better these days and get back in the groove. More soon. Love from Kheldar the Yorkie.

Gabriel Getting Pretty Again!

Gabriel was really trimmed very well to get all the mats off, but now his fur is growing out again, and he looks really wonderful. I wanted to let you know how nice he is doing these days. Been really busy getting the new book finalized. My Lady, Great Lady, and Great Sir have been on the phone talking back and forth for days and redoing the latest book until now it has been sent off again for the final proof copy. As soon as that one gets delivered, a quick perusal and the book will be published! Everyone is very excited. That will book two published. Also, have Volume 2 of two books ready for final work, also, but that will have to wait until Great Sir and Great Lady move. They are really involved packing everything and will have their move scheduled for on or before April 30 so time is flying and they are busy. Won't be able to write as often since they are packing dishes and other things. I am glad I am not there. I don't like moving. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

Dragon Hawke Says Hi!

Dragon Hawke, the beautiful black and white Papillion, says hi! I have talked about him a lot, but have not had his photo in the blog, so he wants some time. He sure is a pretty dog, as bigger dogs go, but I am a fairly nice looking small dog, and he watches out for me. I am somewhat spoiled by the two big guys, but I love it. Well, everyone is busy with the final proofing of "Crossbreed," so I have to go check that out. We should get it published very soon. The last proofs are always the toughest and take the longest, but that is almost done now. Hooray! Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

Thanks to the Fireplace!

It is still very cold outside and the most important place for me, beside the bed, is the fireplace. It is heated by natural gas and it is wonderful! Gentle Sir has not turned on the furnace heat at all because the fireplace is so nice. We thought it would be great at Christmas, but here it is in March, and we are still cold with snow around, too. Therefore, this has become one of the best places to be in the apartment. Ashton loved to sit here when he was visiting, and so do I. Dragon Hawke even likes the tile in front of the fireplace when it is not turned on because he likes to be cooler. He has a lot of thick fur. I like the fireplace when it is working though. Umm. It is so nice! I always think about Ashton sitting there when he visited. I like him and his brother Damien, too. Bet they will come visit again when the snow is gone and it is warm. For now, I will just remember the good times we had while I lie in front of the fireplace. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

Still Wearing a Sweater!

Had more snow and still have to wear my sweater! I sure will be glad when spring comes. I hear from Great Lady that it now is in the high 70's in Florida and the weather is lovely. The azaleas are blooming as well as the citrus trees. Her little lemon tree is covered with blossoms! They had more than 50 big lemons on it in January, and it was beautiful. Also, they are very juicy, tasty lemons. She also has a navel orange tree, tangelo, key lime, and grapefruit trees in the yard to say nothing of the pineapple plants. She has big, juicy pineapples, too, if they get back from the lake early enough before the raccoon gets them when they are ripe. I think I might even like it in Florida, but Gentle Sir doesn't care for the heat. We are better here, I guess. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

Got a Bath!

This time Dragon Hawke got a bath in the sink because My Lady's back is sore and she could not bend down to the bath tub to wash him. He had two feet and half of him in one side and two feet in the other. He doesn't mind the bath too much but does not like to be brushed. He got washed and dried yesterday and today he will be brushed! He sure looks great when he is done, but it is a hard time. His fur is so thick that he doesn't like the brushing much. Gabriel is easy to wash and brush these days and doesn't even mind being brushed since all the mats are gone. I get washed easily, dried, brushed with no problem and even got my teeth brushed. I am really ready for the weekend. Have a good one. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

Got the Bed All Made!

Got the bed all made up with the new cover on the comforter. It is very pretty I think and enjoy all the pretty room and the fresh smell. I guess this is a big enough bed for me. Might even be enough room for Gentle Sir and My Lady, too. We are doing the spring cleaning and getting ready for warmer weather that I hope is coming soon. My Lady has been busy reading the proof copy of Crossbreed, her newest book. Ready for publication I think and anxious to get it done. That sure is a long process. My picture really looks good on the back cover with the message about the authors. I do help, you know. Well, have some other work to get done. More tomorrow. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

Hi from All of Us!

We are just putting the last of the Christmas decor away. Hate to see it all go. This is the last pillow. It took a while to get everything tucked into boxes and put away for next year. I do love Christmas so much. I like this pillow of Santa, too. It reminds me of all the fun I had with the boys when they were here. Maybe they will come for Easter. I hope so. Gentle Sir took the tree down and put it away after My Lady lovingly packed away all the ornaments. That took quite a while, but it is all gone. Now I think she may bring out the Winter Village that she has with all the little houses. They are so cute, but take a long time to put on display and take most of the dining room. That is why we could not have them out for Christmas. She does enjoy the village though and everyone who comes loves to see it. Everyone in the family has a "house." Of course, there is a church, a pond for ice skating, a strange merry-go-round, and even a haunted house. I'll go see if the houses are coming out. Love for now from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

Wash Day Today!

My Lady washed the sheets, and the cover for the beautiful new comforter, and then did the carpeting in the bedroom so it is really clean and lovely in our bedroom now. Of course, I sleep in here in this big king bed with My Lady and Gentle Sir and Dragon Hawke who sleeps on top of the blankets at the foot of the bed. He gets too warm with all his fur. Gabriel sleeps in the other room because he gets up a lot during the night and can get pesty, so I have the prize spot. This is such a nice bedroom, and I love it. I sleep under the blankets right next to My Lady and feel special. Of course, I am special and I know it. Smells so good in here with all the fresh bedding and clean carpeting. Of course, we get clean sheets often, but the cover is not often washed nor is the carpeting. So it is especially nice when everything is clean. I even got a bath, but I don't mind that. I like to be clean. Gabriel complains about that, but since he is clipped, even that goes easier. Starting the week off right. Hope you are, too. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Here I am sitting on my pretty pink pillow wishing you a Happy Valentine's Day. The roses are sitting here looking lovely, too. My Lady is very happy. Also, I heard from afar that Great Sir had a pretty hand-made card ready for Great Lady first thing this morning. In bright pink, it wished her a Happy Valentine's Day with a heart drawn on it and an arrow through it signed by hand with love. He had sent his heart to her. She had it at her plate when she woke up to have breakfast. Very nice. No wonder they have been married going on 59 years. I hope some of you men take notice what you can do with a piece of paper, pinky red marking pen, and a little imagination at the right time. Doesn't cost a penny but can make such a big impression. She had made one for him, too, on the computer, a fancy one, but she saved it from year to year on the side of the refrigerator with a magnet, so she could pull it out each year and have it ready for him! They are quite a couple. Always thinking of each other with tiny, inexpensive gestures. Gentle Sir and My Lady are also very thoughtful and do nice things for each other. She walked up to the store yesterday to get a nice surprise little package of small candy bars that he especially likes and a balloon to mark the day. He was very impressed. Those are the nice little touches, aren't they? Hope you have a good day, too. Love from Kheldar the Yorkie on Valentine's Day.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I just want to wish you a Happy Valentine's Day. I told you about the gifts, now I hope you will have a great day to enjoy and find someone to love. I sure do love My Lady who takes such good care of me, and Gentle Sir who helps in every way he can. My Lady was going to walk to the store today to find a special gift for him. Hope she made it okay. It was raining, and I sure don't want her to go out in that weather. It was supposed to be better yesterday, so maybe she got to get outside. I will let you know in the next post. I just want an extra carrot for my Valentine gift since I cannot have chocolate. Great Lady says chocolate is the best gift of all, and Great Sir gave her two bags of nuggets (chocolate ones) which are priceless in her eyes. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

My Lady's Present!

Aren't these pretty flowers? Gentle Sir surprised My Lady with this bouquet of pink roses with a darker rose color on the edge of the petals. Beautiful! I am glad she is feeling better, and they will even still be lovely for Valentine's Day. I sure hope you all have a nice Valentine's Day. I heard that Great Lady already got her present, and it is a pretty ring with a big red stone. Great Sir is always on the ball, and since they have been married for 58 years, he lets her pick out her own present with him along. She loves the bling-bling! Of course, she got him a present, too. It is crab scent liquid for his fishing baits. She got him a whole bottle of the most awful smelling stuff in the world. He was so very pleased. He has been wanting that scent, not the garlic smell, for some time and when it came to the store, she bought it for him right away. He is out using already today. I will bet he might even catch a bass using it. He thinks he will anyway. Let you know later. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

Dragon Hawke Is A Beautiful Papillion!

Dragon Hawke is such a beautiful Papillion, the butterfly-ear dog! I was watching the Westminster Dog Show last night and there was a Papillion in it, but not near as pretty as our dear friend here. I also noted the Chinese Crested baldy, but was not impressed with that one either. Our Gabriel, when he has his fur, especially looks wonderful. Somehow those bare-skinned ones just don't send me. Of course, Gabriel is a "Puff" meaning he has fur and is supposed to have it, and I like that better. Then, did you see the very pretty Yorkshire Terrier? I thought that dog was pretty fancy. My fur would look like that if I didn't do anything but sit around and let it grow AND My Lady did nothing but brush me. Just don't have time for that. Also, I like it when I get clipped especially for the summer. It is cooler and very nice. Oh well, I guess I just wasn't meant to be a show dog. I don't have to work. I can just be me and see that my blog gets written. Nice life! Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

The Old Me!

This is the way I used to look. Oh, it really was much better. I liked my fur; however, I didn't like it the way it was matted. It really did look awful. I just could not bear to have My Lady even try to comb it out. It was painful, so I am clipped and then some. It will grown in again, even nicer than it is here. I wish I could have waited for another month or so until it got warmer here, but I am an inside dog and don'g have to go out long. Also, if I am really cold, My Lady will put on my sweater. She has been sick, too, so we sure don't stay outside long in this cold weather. Well, just wanted to remind you of how I used to look. I do feel better now though. Kheldar is getting used to seeing me "shaved" now, and he was kind enough to let me tell you about my experience. Thanks to Kheldar, the Yorkie.

I've Been Trimmed!

I am Gabriel, the Chinese Crested Puff, and I have been trimmed! Do you remember when I had long, fluffy, soft fur? Well, I got my fur so matted that My Lady just could not brush or comb it out. It really was pretty bad, so My Lady sent me off to a groomer and he shaved we down and got rid of all that bad fur. I will grow out lovely again and be my old self before long. I like lying here in the chair with the woolly seat. It is warm. Glad I don't have to be outside long, but I am fine. I will show you a picture of the way I used to look tomorrow so you can compare. I will try to be more careful about rolling around and getting into things that mat my fur though. I sure do look different. Kheldar hardly recognized me. He will write tomorrow. Love from Gabriel at Kheldar, the Yorkie blog.

Lying on the Bed!

Here I am lying on My Lady and Gentle Sir's bed with the new white sheets on it. The bed was just getting made, and I hopped up on it. It was so nice. These are the softest sheets and smell so fresh from the laundry. My Lady always washes the new sheets first. We have a pretty new cover for the comforter, too. That was what My Lady got for Christmas from her folks. Well, actually, they send a check and then My Lady gets to go shopping, too. What fun! Gentle Sir always gives her something special, often jewelry because she loves that. She got some beautiful earrings this year and they are really pretty. Amethists, I think. Well, I got a new toy and that is nicer for me. I sure don't need earrings. My ears are cute enough the way they are. Well, everyone is so busy reading the books, trying to get them proofed and published. Hardly have time for the computer these days. Hope to write more tomorrow. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

More snow!

Here it is when it started snowing, but now we have eight inches of it over ice. It is cold (20 degrees) and not melting either. We had no work yesterday because everything was closed and no one could get around on the roads. I could not even walk in the snow because I sank down in it and it was over my head a lot. It kept snowing all day, so I could not even go outside. Gentle Sir had to walk to the store and buy a snow shovel so he can get the car out of the garage. Boy, this is really weird. I had never seen this much snow in Nashville or California. Wish I were with Great Lady and Great Sir in Florida where they never have cold weather, unless you count 50 degrees cold, and they have no snow. I thought it was fun at Christmas when the boys were here and we had fun in the little bit of snow. But now, this deep stuff is awful. I tried to leap out and over it, but it was no use. I just cannot move. My Lady put down a paper over plastic on the veranda porch on the second floor for me to go out and use, but it is sure cold out there, too. At least there is no snow. Been mighty busy getting the Volume 2 of "Hear What Your Dog Says!" proof read and "Crossbreed." Both books are ready to be published except for the final proof reading. "Hear What Your Dog Says!" Volume 1 has been published at Amazon.Com and some readers are waiting for Volume 2 to get published, too. Everyone is really busy working on that now. How exciting. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

My Toy Basket!

Going to my toy basket under the coffee table to get a new toy to play with for a while. I have quite a selections, as you can see, and I often get them all out and then have to put them away when I am done, but it is so much fun. I love to pull them out and play with each one for a while. Then, when My Lady says, "Put your toys away, Kheldar, I go right away and do it. It really takes me a while sometimes, but I am getting out my favorite blue toy now. At least My Lady tells me the toy I play with a lot is blue. I really can't tell that, you know. I see shades of gray. More tomorrow. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

Resting Up Today!

Taking it easy today on my pink pillow. My Lady is still not up to par, but I think she is a little better. We are still taking it easy though. I am sure waiting for warmer weather, but I think everyone is doing that. We still have a time to go so we will just have to take it slow now and get ready for spring when we can run outside again. Glad we have a nice warm place though and can be so cozy. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

On Our Walk!

Going for a walk with Dragon Hawke on the left, Gabriel on the right, and I, Kheldar, am in the middle. You have to look hard to see me, but remember I am a four-pound teacup Yorkie. I may be small, but I hold my own in most situations. My Lady is taking us for short walks because she still isn't feeling too good; however, you know we do need to go outside some anyway. Gentle Sir is gone all day to work, but he does take us out once in a while early in the morning and later at night, but otherwise it is up to My Lady to get us outside. Remember, she has to go up and down a long, long stairway since we are on the second floor, too. Not the best when you don't feel well. Well, that is the way things are. When it is nice outside, it is great, but in this cold miserable weather, it is not as much fun. Often I need my sweater on, too. Well, more tomorrow from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

Dragon Hawke Subs Today!

Here I am, Dragon Hawke, the Papillion, telling you about the news today since My Lady is still sick, but hopefully, she is on the mend. She just doesn't do well in this cold, cold weather, and even if she bundles up in her long warm coat, her stocking hat, gloves, and boots, she still is cold. Now I have a heavy fur coat and really don't feel the cold too much except on my feet, but it is much colder here this winter than it was in Nashville last year. Gentle Sir is taking very good care of her, so she should get better soon. I sure do hope so. I feel guilty making her go out for walks, but she takes us out despite all. She is getting more sleep, however, and takes a nap each day so that is the best way to get better. She is really excited about the book being published at Amazon.com "Hear What Your Dog Says!" and is busy working on Volume 3 now since Volume 2 is in the proof stage and should be published soon. We have all been working hard on those, and remember Volume 3 will be about me and Gabriel and Kheldar. Even our pictures are on the cover! Do you know how exciting it is to have a book written about you and by you? You do know that we help a lot, but Kheldar is the historian and one who gets the most credit because he does the telling just as he does in this blog. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie, and Dragon Hawke, the substitute today.

Gabriel Subs Today!

Here I am, Gabriel, the Chinese Crested Puff, sitting here waiting for My Lady to get over her cold. Gosh, this cold weather really affects her and, of course, she has to go out in the cold to take us out for walks. She has been resting and hoping it does not turn into pneumonia again. Scarey. Things are very exciting here with the two books waiting for proof copies. Just think! Two more to join the "Hear What Your Dog Says!" Volume 1 which has been published at Amazon.com already. You can just bring up Amazon.com and type in the title "Hear What Your Dog Says!" and it comes right up with a bit about the book and a blurb about My Lady and her publishing partners. Won't be long now before Volume 2 will be out, too, and they are even working on Volume 3 which is about me and Dragon Hawke and Kheldar. We will make a great book with all our antics and things we do with the grandsons, too. I can hardly wait. Even my picture, along with Dragon Hawke and Kheldar's pictures, are all on the cover of Volume 3 so you will have to watch for that one when it gets out. Kheldar is checking on My Lady now, so I am sending the post this time. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie, and Gabriel today.

Getting Proof Copies!

Can you believe it? My Lady and Great Lady have just ordered the proof copies of a new volume of "Hear What Your Dog Says! Volume 2" AND another book we have been working on, "CROSSBREED, Volume 1" which is an interesting one about a good young man who by the time he was twenty-one, he had become a werewolf and a vampire through no fault of his own, but now that he has these fearsome traits, he does only good with them, becoming judge, jury, and executioner of murdering cut-throats out to harm his town's people in Lich, Germany. He has a fine family life with his father who is a Grand Baron and a loving, caring dad, and his mother who dotes on her son, not knowing all his problems, only wanting a good marriage for him and to have the wife and grandchildren to come and live in a wing of their huge castle. Makes for a very interesting and exciting story. Both books should be on sale before long at Amazon.com where "Hear What Your Dog Says! Volume 1" is now on sale. Of course, my picture is on the back cover of each book because I help a great deal with the writing and publishing. What fun! Tell you more about it tomorrow. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

Getting a Bath!

Here I am in the big bath tub getting a bath, and My Lady's daughter-in-law V is giving it to me. When My Lady fell down on the slippery place a while ago, she really hurt her knees to say nothing of spraining her left thumb. Ugh! It has been a bad time here because she is creatively left-handed. So before the kids left, dear V gave all of us baths because she can kneel down by the tub. She was very gentle and did a really fine job. Hated to see her leave. My Lady though is slowly recovering and hopefully she will get the brace off her thumb soon. Do you know how wonderful it is to have a thumb? Well, when you have one and can't use it, it is awful! The doctor said she can start to take it off a bit now if she doesn't hurt it again. Well, that is easier said than done. We are managing but it is hard. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

Saying Goodbye!

Hated seeing the boys leave but they do have to get back to school. I waved goodbye to them and will look forward to their coming again at the next vacation time. At least, they had such a good time that they are eager to come again as soon as possible. Now we are back to getting the place cleaned up, the trash from the wrappings and stuff tossed out, and everything back to normal. Will be taking the beautiful tree down, too. That is always a sad time, but we will be looking forward to the next fun time together. Well, I have to get all my toys back in the basket and get my things in order too for the New Year. Hope you all have a happy and blessed new year for 2009. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

Two Fun Gifts!

Here were two of the most delightful gifts that the boys really loved. Each one got a space helmet and they put them on, walking around like two robots. They loved them. I am sure glad I didn't have to wear anything like that, but the boys wore them around for hours. They played all kinds of space games and enjoyed being robots walking around until it was time for dinner. Then they finally were willing to take them off and have dinner. What fun they had bumping into things and just being silly. These turned out to be real fun gifts for the two little boys. Well, they sure did have a wonderful time at grandma's house and are eager to come again. More about Christmas tomorrow. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

Being Cuddled!

Here are Ashton, who is five, and Damien, who is three, sitting on their mother's lap and they are really cuddling me. I loved being the center of attention, and the boys are really thrilled to pet me and play with me all the time. They have learned to be very gentle with me because I am so small that often times children are not careful and hurt me. What fun it is, however, to have nice, darling children around to play with. They have really gotten to love me and are very careful with me. Some children are too rough, but these two boys are very caring and careful. We sure had a wonderful time together. This has been the best Christmas yet. You can see that we all had a great time together. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

Best Gifts Under the Tree!

Here is a darling photo of my boys, Ashton and Damien, sitting under the Christmas tree ready to open presents. What wonderful fun we had together. Notice that Ashton has me cuddled in his arms. I was always someplace nearby. They got lots of presents and so did I. They arrived on Christmas Eve and we all went to bed early after they had such a long drive from Nashville. Christmas morning, however, the openings began and went on for a long time. We always do one at a time and each one gets one and then we go to the next round. It is wonderful because we really enjoy each one. Afterward, we had a lamb dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy which is our favorite and just gloried in a blessed Christmas Day. Hope your Christmas was good, too. Had to leave on Friday for the long drive home, but it was worth every minute. Show you more of the gifts tomorrow. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

Oh, Christmas Tree!

Here is the beautiful Christmas tree! It is lovely and we have really enjoyed it. We have had a fantastic Christmas with the boys here, and their parents, of course, but I do like the boys. We had so much fun together. They had to go home, but we sure miss them. I will try to tell you about some of the great things we did together. Great Lady is still recooperating and not up to her usual duties, but I am glad she is back doing something! Can't believe how much depends on her. Hope we can do better now in this new year. More tomorrow. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.
