Making Progress!

Well, as you can see, we found Gabriel's grey pillow. You know mine is bright pink, but his is dull grey. I am resting on it right now, and Dragon Hawke is keeping watch, but as soon as Gabriel comes, we will be gone. Gabriel, the Chinese Crested Puff is a lot bigger than either one of us, so we defer to him when he is really in the right. Otherwise, My Lady will get after us. I am pretty fiesty though and can hold my own if I feel I am in the right, but this time, I will pass. As you can see, we are making progress in the move. It hasn't been long since they unloaded the furniture, but it seems like a month instead of a week. That is the way moving is. I remember before when we moved. This time we are more experienced, but it still is hard. Tomorrow will be another day, and we will have more boxes emptied. Will try to write more to you tomorrow. Woops! Gabriel is coming! Glad the Weekend Is Coming!

My Lady found my pillow! Hooray! It was all packed into a box. This is much better, but there are still things "missing." I am sure it is in some box, no matter what it is, but tomorrow Gentle Sir will be home, and I know much more will get done with both of them working together. My Lady did find, in the bottom of a box, my terrific footstool. It is round, has little wooden legs, a pretty needlepoint top with roses that My Lady's Grandmother made a long time ago. I especially love it because it sits in front of the sofa, and makes it possible for me to hop up on it and then hop up on the sofa without help. Otherwise, My Lady has to give me a boost. Things are getting more and more back to normal. I don't know if Gabriel's pillow was found yet, but it will probably show up, too. Dragon Hawke doesn't care much about a pillow because he likes to sit on top of the back of the sofa or chair. He likes to be on top of things always. Well, I will have a snooze on my pillow and then go see what else My Lady has "found." Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

Still More Boxes!

Here is My Lady sitting down for a minute, and I have found a tiny place on the carpet without boxes! This is awful. All she does is open one box after another. We do go for short walks. First, we go down the stairs since we are on the upper floor now, then, a quick run around the building, and back up the stairs. When we are back inside, we try to find an open place where we won't get squashed. My Lady promises that soon we will be back to normal. I love normal! Really looking forward to having time to be brushed well, petted often, and fed treats one at a time. I am lucky to get my carrots at all these days. I prefer them one at a time. I like to take my carrot out of My Lady's hand, run off and eat it leisurely, come back for another, and so on. Now it is, "Here are your carrots. I have to get back to the boxes." Oh well, soon it will be over. There are more open places today. Will write more tomorrow when things are better. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

I Am Tired Today!

I am here on the sofa lying down because I am so very tired today. And this is one of the few places open without boxes. I am afraid I will be caught in the box maze and won't be able to get out, so I am going to stay right here. Moving is awfully hard, isn't it? My Lady is doing a wonderful job, but it is overwhelming right now. Little by little, she empties one box after another and just keeps on going. Gentle Sir is away early to go to his new job, so he has all he can do with that. Then, he doesn't get home until later than usual and brings something good to eat with him. They are a good team. Gabriel, Dragon Hawke, and I just try to stay out of the way and be very good because that is one way we can help. We do get our walks, but they are not leisurely strolls. Then, I am back here on the sofa. I am sure things will be better tomorrow. Until then, Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

What a Mess!

Do things looked mixed up here? Well, they are! The movers came and downloaded everything. Then, My Lady tried to find the pump for the Comfort Select bed, and she opened many boxes to no avail. Great Lady talked to her, and she has moved many times, but they did their own packing and labeled all the boxes. She said to feel what was in each opened box, write contents on the box, put each one in the room where it would go, and then she would know where things are. Also, if they can be placed where she could open just the bedroom boxes and unload them first, she would get a feeling of accomplishment and one room done. Things are much better now, but we are still in a mess. If you have moved, however, you know that it is a while before all gets back to normal and you feel like you are at home. Then, the kitchen sink faucet came off, and she had to wait for a repairman to come fix it. Always new challenges. I will just try to lay low for today and hope to have better news to report tomorrow. Great Lady also said the proof of their new book just arrived for her to check since she does the editing, so, hopefully, it won't be long until we have a book for sale at Amazon and Ebooks. My Lady is the creative one on the team, you know so she has a big piece of this accomplishment. How exciting that is! Tell you more about that soon. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

I Am Locked in Again!

Yes, I am locked in the bathroom again, and so are Gabriel and Dragon Hawke; however, this is our new bathroom. Today the movers are coming, so we are kept in here for our own well being. Also, I am sure the big moving men would be terrified of us. I am pretty tough when I bark and carry on a bit. I am a terrier and will attack anything. We are very comfortable, have our water bowl, food, toys, and My Lady will come in often to take us on our leases for a walk. We know it is only temporary imprisonment until the furniture is unloaded and placed where it should be. Can't wait until we can get back on the sofa and even on the big bed. I will have to use the small stairs again, but it is worth it. I love to sleep on the big four-poster bed with My Lady and Gentle Sir. I get to curl up right next to her under the blankets, sometimes even on Gentle Sir's pillow, especially after he gets up to go to work. Dragon Hawke has to be on top of the blanket because he gets too hot with his heavy fur coat, and Gabriel likes the foot of the bed because he is afraid someone might roll over on him. I am tough though and no one would dare to roll over on me. Oh, I think I hear that the movers are here! Later, My Lady will take me out to see them and the truck, I hope. Tell you all about it. Until then, Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

Stairs Are A Big Thing!

Now, these are the stairs that Gentle Sir built for me so I can get onto the big bed, but as soon as I can get my camera working, I will show you the BIG stairs that must be mounted to get into my new apartment. WOW! At first I could not even do it. I jumped and jumped and finally, got up one step. But we have been here for a few days now, and I can run up and down the steps since we are on the second floor and have two short runs, the first to a landing, and then the second one to the door. They are inside though, starting in the garage, so I won't have to worry about doing it in the rain or snow. Yes, we expect to have snow here this winter, but we are next to the "salt" storage; therefore, our walk will probably be the first one to get prepped. I hope My Lady brought my sweater. I will probably need that later, but now it is very nice. Tomorrow, the moving van comes. Hooray! I was aghast when I found that the movers even packed my pink pillow in a box and put it in the van, so I had to borrow Gentle Sir's pillow so I could sleep. He is so good to me, and especially kind to My Lady. She really watches out for me. Well, we are ready to go for a walk now, so it is time to go down the BIG stairs. I can do it! Will write more tomorrow. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.
