Photo of My New Area

This is a sign on the area in our new apartment complex where dogs can walk and run around. Pretty fancy to have a special place designated just for us. There is a reminder to have a bag and pick up waste as you go along, and I must say that it is very neat here. My Lady really likes that and will keep the place clean wherever we go. She was upset because many people in the last place where we lived did not abide by the rules. We are very happy to be here, and I know we will all enjoy our special place. Whee! We are always on our leashes, except once when I was just a little new pup and did not know the rules, but now we always run down the stairs (remember that they are inside), go into the garage, get our leashes on, go outside, and then stroll to the designated spot for all dogs to walk and get our exercise. We always leave it clean and neat, too. Will show you more pictures tomorrow. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

New Photos!

Here I am on our new stairway. See me? I am sitting on the landing. Look like a tiny spot. I have to go up and down these steps several times a day when we go for walks. Now this is quite a feat! At first, I had to crawl up each step and was nervous going down, but now I can hop up the stairs in no time and can just bound right down. I sure am getting my exercise and so is My Lady. I don't think I need to lose weight, but Dragon Hawke does so this will really help him. This is an interesting place, and I think I am really going to like it here. I will show you more pictures each day, so you can know where we are now. Wow, that does look like a mountain, and I am in the middle of it. That is true because it goes much farther up to our door and quite a bit farther down to our garage. Glad it is inside though, and I don't have to do this in the rain or snow. Show you more tomorrow. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

Our Hero!

Here is Dragon Hawke, the Papillion, smiling because he is getting applause for being a hero yesterday when the chow chow attacked us. As I told you, when the chow came at us, without a leash, growling and snapping, Dragon Hawke quickly darted right at the chow's nose and nipped a mouthful of fur. It didn't hurt him, but really embarrassed the big coward, and he ran off. Gabriel and I were thrilled, and My Lady was pleased she did not have to break up a big dog fight because she would do anything to save me and my "brothers." She has stepped in before, like a tiger watching over her cubs, and fought off dogs to save us from harm. Often, she carries a big stick, but this time she was just out for a walk, expecting no problems. Well, we are all fine, and I am sure the chow will be on a tight leash from now on, so he will not attack little dogs again. Things are much better today. With the pump for the Comfort Select bed found, in the bottom of the box with Christmas decorations in it, and all installed, My Lady, Gentle Sir, and the three of us dogs all are more comfy at night; therefore, we are all in a better frame of mind for the work to be done. All things even seem possible now. If things are not good, just wait, say a prayer, and they will be better the next day. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

Better Today!

Much better today! In fact, in our photo here, we are all set to go for our walk. Gabriel is always on the right, Dragon Hawke on the left, and I am usually tucked in the middle. Look hard and you can see me with the fancy red leash. Well, My Lady was in good spirits, too, so we set out to walk around our building on the dogwalk itself. Remember, this is a new area for us, but we are finally settling in just fine. It will be a while before we are all straightened out, but that is typical when you move. As we were walking around the far side of the building, we saw a fence along the walkway, and when we came to the opening that leads into a big grassy area, there was a lady with a chow-chow coming across the grass. Then, we noticed that the chow was NOT on a leash. He was a lot bigger than any of us, and often chows may be mean. He came running at us and was growling. The lady ran after him, but he got to us first, and as feisty as I am, I was shocked! Gabriel jumped sideways, and as the chow snapped at us, Dragon Hawke, the Papillion, snapped back at him and, in a flash, nipped the chow next to his nose, and Dragon Hawke came out with a mouthful of fur. The chow was not hurt at all, but it really scared him, and he ran. Imagine, that big dog just high-tailed it out of there. The lady gave profuse apologies and was so sorry to have frightened us. Obviously, she could not control him in any way and without a leash, she could not do anything at all, just be very sorry and frightened that the dog had come after us. That was scarey! Dragon Hawke smiled, and I breathed a sigh of relief. I am pretty brave, but that was not my finest moment. I was terrified and so was Gabriel, expecting a massive dog fight. I must say that My Lady was very upset and the woman was just groveling as she left to try to get hold of her dog. I will bet that chow won't be out without a leash again. We walked back to our place, Dragon Hawke strutting a bit, but rightly so. He saved the day. Glad he belongs to me. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

Not Up to Par

Not up to par today. Going to just lie on my pillow and take it easy. Things are getting put away, but I just don't care much right now. Maybe I am just tired from all the changes and work I have been doing. After all, I have to follow My Lady around, and she is so busy that I am tired. I am just going to hang around on my pillow until tomorrow. I hope to write more then. A good nap and I am sure I will be better. Till then, Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

Another New Week!

What a beautiful day this to begin the new week. Dragon Hawke, the Papillion, had his nose out of joint because my picture is in the post every day, as it should be since it is MY blog; however, I did have Gabriel's picture in yesterday, so Dragon Hawke thought it was his turn. He let me know, also, that his markings were prettier than the Papillion's that was in the dog show. I have to agree since we have to keep joy in the "brotherhood." We three dogs do get along so very well, and I am certainly happy to be in this family. As I knew they would, the things are much better today after the weekend of work by My Lady and Gentle Sir, and I can see great progress. We are going to like it here. It is nice to start a new week with things more in order and all going well. Busy writing on the book (Volume 1) and finally have the proof redone, as far as the editing goes. Now the second volume is in the works, so that will keep us all going for a while. We want to publish at least two volumes in the series that will have several more to come. Like keeping you up to date. Let me know if you like my blog. I sure enjoy keeping in touch with you. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.

Glad I Have My Bowl!

Woops, Gabriel came to claim his grey pillow. Oh, I guess it is only fair since I do have my special pink one which I love. I also do have my footstool to hop up on the sofa and my bowl. What more is there to worry about? I will be content now but be very glad when the moving and unpacking is all done. Last night I watched the "Animal Planet Dog Show" and saw a Chinese Crested, but he was the "bare" one, with fur only on his feet, head, and tail. He even has to have sunscreen when he goes out in the sun. Glad my buddy Gabriel doesn't have that problem because he is a Puff with fur. I think he is cuter, too, but I am sure I am prejudiced. I also saw a Yorkie, but that one had silky fur to the floor. I get a neat cut that is much cooler for the summer, and I don't have to sit for all that brushing and grooming either. That must be a real chore to be in the dog shows. Glad My Lady did not think to make me a show dog. She always says I would take first place in any show because I have so much personality. I take off my hat to all those dogs who have to travel all the time, stay in a cage a great deal of the time, get groomed and groomed, and then have to perform on cue. I really have it good and can do just as I please, getting petted and doted on all the time. The most I have to do is sing when we have birthdays in the family, and we three "boys" yodel happy birthday to them, often on the phone. Great Sir said he is going to take our pictures, maybe with sound, and put them on UTube. Wow! That will be fun, I think. Love from Kheldar, the Yorkie.
